Running climb-up + climb-down

Free Preview

Why?

  • to refine your footwork and other key skills that will apply to climb-ups from a cat hang
  • to build full body strength for climb-ups

How?

  • start by the wall and take three big steps backward
  • take your 3-step approach at the wall and step one foot on the wall *
  • then, step with your other foot on the wall
  • alternate legs once again and kick back to initiate the top-out **
  • finish with a good top-out

* Limiting yourself to three approach steps on the ground is an important way to train and progress in difficult by using less steps.
** This alternating footwork pattern is key for all climb-up variations (step, step, kick back, land on top)
